Adjunct Lecturer – Biological Sciences Department: Biological Sciences Location: Lisle, IL Rate: $1400 per contact hour (with terminal degree) and $1200 per contact hour (without terminal degree). Compensation is per contact hour and is subject to change based on class size. Brief Overview of Duties The Department of Biological Sciences seeks engaging and enthusiastic instructors to assist in delivering courses in the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 terms at our Lisle campus. The department offers classes in Biological Sciences and Sport and Exercise Science. Immediate needs for Fall include non‑majors environmental science, introductory biology laboratories, upper‑division (4000‑level) ecology laboratory with a writing designation, and capstone writing classes in science and medicine. Additional upper‑level (3000 or 4000 level) and masters‑level (5000 level) elective courses in human physiology and other biological disciplines are also consistent needs. Named courses are in‑person classes with already‑scheduled meeting times. Candidates will have at least a Master’s degree (doctoral degree for masters‑level coursework) in biological sciences or a closely related field and will be able to work well in team‑taught courses. Required Qualifications Education: Master’s degree in life sciences; Ph.D. preferred. Experience in one or more areas of the life sciences. Must be able to teach at the Lisle, Illinois campus. Physical Requirements Regularly required to talk or hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to touch, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Use of computer screen, phone, and customer service. May require bending or sitting for extended periods of time. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
