Part-Time Registered Professional Nurse

Location: Gainesville, FL FTE: Part-Time (.6 FTE) Shift: Variable

The Registered Professional Nurse provides and coordinates comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care focused on achieving optimal patient outcomes. The RN assesses patient needs, develops and implements nursing interventions, evaluates outcomes, and collaborates with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team throughout the care process.

Key Responsibilities

• Assesses patients and identifies actual and potential health concerns.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized nursing interventions and plans of care.
• Involves patients, families, and significant others in care planning and decision-making whenever possible.
• Supervises and directs care provided by Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Unlicensed Assistive Personnel.
• Assigns and delegates care to qualified members of the healthcare team.
• Coordinates patient care across professional disciplines.
• Advocates for patients and promotes safe, compassionate, and individualized care.
• Participates in unit-based activities that support a positive and professional work environment.
• Demonstrates autonomous, accountable nursing practice while fostering teamwork, trust, and collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• BSN preferred at time of hire
• Nurses hired without a BSN must obtain a BSN within three (3) years of hire

Licensure & Certification

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida
• Professional nursing board certification preferred at time of hire
• Nurses hired without professional nursing board certification must obtain certification after two (2) years of hire, or upon reaching the eligibility date for certifications requiring more than two years of experience

Motor Vehicle Requirement

• This position does not require operating a vehicle for assigned business purposes
