Job Details Facility: GSS NE Grand Island Vlg Location: Grand Island, NE Address: 4075 Timberline St, Grand Island, NE 68803, USA Shift: 8 Hours - Varied Shifts Job Schedule: PRN Weekly Hours: Varies Salary Range: $18.50 - $28.00 Responsibilities The Medication Assistant (MA) serves as caregiver who provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a charge nurse. Provides age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per plan of care. Assists with basic health care needs including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psycho-social support and other personal care. May assist with transferring, re-positioning, and walking using proper techniques and equipment and provide range of motion and passive exercises. Centres food preparation and dining tasks to create a positive dining experience. May assist residents with meals and snacks; provide water and supplements as appropriate. Administers prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse and within scope of practice as defined by state regulations. Documents outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary. Communicates changes in condition, medication follow-up and care-related concerns to the charge nurse. Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs. Provides housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with clean and operational living areas. Supports wellness and recreational programs and encourages resident participation. May participate in departmental or organization committees and task forces as needed. Qualifications High school graduate or GED preferred but not required. Minimum of 18 years of age. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred. Completes yearly department-specific competency testing; maintains continuing education credits (minimum 12 hours annually). Maintains required certifications; valid driver’s license and auto insurance if applicable. State-specific CNA/CMA certification requirements: Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota as listed; must have CMA or equivalent certification where applicable; CMA/TMA permission; ability to obtain CNA/State registration within 120 days where required.
