Orthopedic Technician - Full Time

Provide direct and indirect individualized skilled technical orthopedic care in conformance with medical staff written orders Apply, adjust, maintain, and remove specified orthopedic equipment, devices, and appliances Instruct patients and families on use of orthopedic equipment, devices, and appliances Assist medical staff in the orthopedic room, inpatient units, and/or operating room Accept telephone orders from appropriate physicians within scope of responsibility and Elliot Hospital policies Apply fracture braces on written physician orders Assist with office functions including exam room turnover, data entry, appointment scheduling, and insurance pre-certifications Work effectively with medical staff, office staff, and administration Support a team approach to patient care and maintain cooperative interdepartmental relationships Requirements High School diploma or equivalent required Completion of a formal Orthopedic training program required, or equivalent certification (ASOP) must be obtained within 3 months Previous clinical experience preferred National Board of Certification of Orthopaedic Technologists or registration by the American Society of Orthopaedic Professionals preferred Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm Must train/cover for low census at Hooksett and Manchester locations Ability to apply, adjust, maintain, and remove specified orthopedic equipment, devices, and appliances Ability to instruct patients and families regarding orthopedic equipment, devices, and appliances Ability to assist medical staff in orthopedic rooms, inpatient units, and/or operating rooms Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in providing individualized orthopedic care, including the application and maintenance of orthopedic equipment. Capable of instructing patients and families while collaborating effectively with medical and office staff.
