We drive innovation to ensure our cutting-edge solutions are helping to solve the biggest challenges in the semiconductor industry.The impact you’ll make The Software Computational Engineer applies the following towards solving semiconductor fabrication hardware and process discovery, design, and optimization challenges:1) Understanding of the fundamental physical, chemical, electromagnetic phenomenon and their interactions at the atomic to chamber scales2) Development of mathematical models governing the fluid flow, gas-phase and surface chemical reactions, electromagnetic effects, and numerous processes driving semiconductor plasma etch and deposition processes3) Computational algorithms, applied mathematics, and numerical methods applied to solving systems of linear and partial-differential equations arising from the aforementioned modelsSoftware development skills including one or more programming languages such as C++, Python, Matlab, etc. and experience building large-scale, high-performance, and scalable software for CPU and GPGPU computing.What you’ll do• Recognized expertise in own area within the organization. • Is a lead contributor to their team and the organization as a whole. • May be involved in developing, mentoring, coaching, and/ or leading others. • Level determined by business need.• Having broad expertise or unique knowledge, uses skills to contribute to development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways.• Barriers to entry such as technical committee review may exist at this level.• Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. • Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. • Creates formal networks involving coordination among groups.• Enhances the business by introducing, developing or offering breakthrough products, services or technological advancements.• Improves performance within organizations by fostering cutting edge approaches.• Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments. • May supervise activities of others.• Sets own standards, methods and/or procedures to accomplish duties.• Is an effective change agent on matter(s) that affect a department or organization.• Provides technical guidance within and occasionally across work groups.Who we’re looking forTypically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experiencePreferred qualificationsOur commitmentSalaryCA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $141,000.00 - $307,000.00.The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role.
