It involves treating patients with standard physical therapy procedures, determining capabilities, needs, interests and goals, and preparing individually tailored programs consistent with physician diagnoses. Qualifications Doctor of Physical Therapy (required) – Bachelor of Physical Therapy acceptable; Doctorate preferred Massachusetts Physical Therapist licensure (required) Experienced and new graduates welcome to apply American Heart Association BLS CPR (required) Responsibilities Evaluates all assigned patients, develops plans of treatment, provides assessment, and assists in discharge planning as appropriate. Uses established department evaluation procedures within 24 hours, plans appropriate goals and treatment, assists patients/families in acquiring prescribed equipment, and participates in discharge planning with the rehab team using professional judgment. Applies treatment plans within established procedures and time frames, consistently applying the plan, modifying it according to patient abilities, training patients and families on carryover procedures and equipment usage, providing a safe environment with universal precautions, and demonstrating empathy in treatment. Completes documentation to comply with professional standards and department procedures for initial consult, progress notes, clinical conference notes, and dictate reports, including history, test results, clinical observations, diagnosis, prognosis, and recommendations within 24 hours. Provides information and consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other health‑care personnel; documents counseling; completes consultations with MDs, nursing staff, ancillary services, and outside referring agencies, while demonstrating empathy. Completes department operational procedures, including scheduling, billing, equipment usage, time‑off requests, and caseload coverage; submits charges and credit within 24 hours; adheres to equipment usage and time‑off policy; provides staff coverage during shortages efficiently. Assists with on‑the‑job orientation and training for student interns, helps develop in‑service, reviews and co‑signs intern documentation, and contributes to intern rating at midterm and end of internship. Demonstrates relevant knowledge and application of clinical skills in evaluation, treatment, and counseling; establishes and implements 1–2 specific professional development objectives reviewed annually. Meets productivity expectations as determined by the supervisor. Attends in‑service training, outside seminars, and other meetings as directed; presents in‑service training with established guidelines. Skills and Competencies Mid‑Level PT skills, physiological knowledge, health promotion and maintenance, creating a safe, effective environment, motivating others, legal compliance, quality focus, bedside manner, clinical skills, pain management, persistence, energy level. Education Doctor of Physical Therapy: Physical Therapy (required). Certifications Basic Life Support – American Heart Association Compensation Philosophy We offer competitive total compensation that includes pay, benefits, and other recognition programs. The base pay range for this role is $83,054 to $121,804 annually; actual salaries may vary based on experience. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non‑exempt employees and based on an assumed full‑time commitment for exempt employees.
