3-Month Contract | W2 Only We're seeking an experienced Buyer II to manage purchasing, supplier relationships, inventory planning, and cost-reduction initiatives for assigned commodities. Key Responsibilities
- Manage purchasing and inventory planning to optimize cost, quality, availability, and inventory levels
- Maintain SAP Material Master data integrity and utilize SAP purchasing/inventory planning functions
- Negotiate supplier contracts and maintain strong supplier performance metrics
- Manage inventory to established levels and turns goals
- Research and develop new suppliers and identify substitute materials when appropriate
- Process defective materials and effectively implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
- Interpret supplier contracts and partner with Supply Chain leadership on legal issues
- Develop and implement processes that reduce inventory, waste, and total cost of ownership
- Collaborate effectively across Supply Chain and other functional teams
- Follow all safety requirements and support special projects as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, or related field
- 3-5 years of Supply Chain Management experience
- 1-2 years of Tier I ERP experience - SAP, Oracle, or JD Edwards
- Ability to perform Buyer/Planner I responsibilities
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, research, and decision-making skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP
- ISM or APICS certification preferred
