Site Safety Manager ( Associate Level ) (Hybrid)

Job Summary

The Safety Specialist supports Gardner-Watson Decking's commitment to a safe, compliant, and productive work environment. This role promotes safe work practices, conducts jobsite audits and training, supports field operations, investigates incidents, and helps ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, customer requirements, and company policies.

Travel Requirements: This position requires 100% travel. You will support safety activities for our large commercial construction projects around the country; assisting with pre-construction safety activities and serving as the On-Site Safety Representative for each project in your region throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct jobsite safety inspections and audits.
• Lead safety training, orientations, and toolbox talks.
• Serve as the on-site Safety Representative for the duration of each project throughout the country.
• Investigate incidents and support corrective actions.
• Partner with Project Managers, Foremen, Human Resources and Operations teams to keep crews working safely and efficiently.
• Perform daily field observations of decking and studs crews, identifying unsafe behaviors and coaching employees in real time.
• Review fall protection systems, aerial lifts, access points, and work areas to ensure compliance before work begins.
• Track and maintain safety related certifications.
• Document site visits, corrective actions, and training activities using mobile devices and safety reporting tools.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of residential or commercial construction, field safety or similar experience in trades work preferred.
• OSHA 30 required; OSHA 510 preferred.
• Strong ethical compass.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to travel extensively and work on commercial construction sites that typically last 2-3 months before moving to a different location.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, lift to 50 pounds, and work in varying weather conditions.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, mobile devices, and safety reporting software.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
