Service Transition Manager - Columbia, MD

This position can be located anywhere in the US. However, we have strong preference for someone based out of Columbia, MD. This position works in close cooperation with the Sales, Service and other support organizations to create and deploy service solutions that benefit our customers. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring contractually agreed service and support requirements can be met and delivered by the service organization.

Your tasks

• Understand customer requirements and concept of operation in close collaboration with sales and the customer
• Identify and implement Service Delivery and Support Concept, processes, tools and capabilities. Validate needed processes and tools are in place and trigger gap closure as needed
• Ensures that Service Demands from the customer or an RFQ correspond with Service Operations capabilities. Develop and review SOW in response to RFQs
• Develop SOW for subcontractors for services in coordination with R&S Contracts Team. Manage subcontractor performance and relationships
• Develop and implement strategy for service delivery solutions (including in-house and third-party delivery)
• Work cross functionally to drive the development of SLA costs and pricing
• Handover service solution requirements and transition service delivery strategy, processes and tools to Service Delivery teams
• Implement training concepts, processes and tools for technicians & subcontractors
• Manage System and SLA install base
• Actively drive process improvements & lean initiatives. Document processes and work instructions
• Manage complex projects involving multiple departments and various technical and business process related deliverables

Your qualifications

• Technical or Business Bachelor's degree. Technical degree in Electronics (or equivalent) is highly preferred
• 5+ years experience with defining requirements for and implementing business concepts, processes and tools for enabling operational delivery for technical products
• Technical capability to understand RF and Electrical system fundamentals. Ability to comprehend technical electrical and mechanical documentation and apply knowledge in relevant situations
• ILS, Logistics, Systems Engineering, or PMI/PMP certifications are considered an advantage when supported by relevant experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with customers and internal teams.
• Ability to create well organized clear presentation of information in Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Proficiency in MS Excel, with the ability to use data manipulation functions to analyze, filter, sort, and present complex datasets effectively through charts and graphs, enabling informed decision-making
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills. A collaborative mindset and the ability to work well within a team to achieve common goals. 
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and projects. Demonstrated experience managing complex projects.
• Ability to travel a minimum of 25%, primarily domestic travel with occasional international travel
• Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S a plus
• In order to be considered, candidates must reside in the US and have valid US work authorization, and have the ability to obtain a US Public Trust Security Clearance.

The total compensation for this position is $96K-$125K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
