Director of Engineering, KSHB

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Model and lead a culture of empathy, customer service, and leadership Lead the research, design, installation, and repair of all television, digital, OTT, Internet Systems, high-power RF systems, production environments, and all associated equipment using current platforms and protocols Manage building facilities and grounds, including HVAC, power generation, and security systems Partner with the news department to develop, build, and support content workflow and support systems, including integration and problem-solving software, hardware, networking, and infrastructure, while facilitating a collaborative environment between the newsroom and production control staff Motivate and manage a staff of professional and technical engineers, operators, and IT technicians Develop and grow staff in technology and Scripps culture to meet the ongoing and future technological needs of the station, and evaluate staff growth opportunities and assessments Establish and implement engineering policies and procedures Evaluate and maintain the spectrum and broadband usage of the facility Manage projects Plan, design, and document current and future broadcast and digital systems Collaborate with other departments to determine current and future studio, transmission, and workflow needs Prepare and track capital, expense, repair, and maintenance budgets Use the company purchasing management system to purchase and track assets and services, as well as replacement cycles Evaluate equipment solutions Keep the station compliant with the FCC Rules and Regulations, as well as related local, state, and federal regulations Perform other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred Generally, 10+ years of experience in a related field is preferred Prior managerial experience preferredNetwork, SBE, and/or Project Management certification preferred Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company's required insurance limits
