Health & Safety Manager (New York)

Permanent Placement Health & Safety Manager (New York) We are looking for a Health & Safety Manager for a permanent position with a roadway construction contractor specializing in asphalt and concrete restoration associated with utility work. Projects involve pavement and sidewalk restoration, supporting long‑term infrastructure improvements. The Health & Safety professional will support the company’s expanding operations through field inspections, compliance oversight, and safety program development. Position Summary The Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for conducting periodic field inspections of multiple crews and overseeing safety practices at both job sites and company yard operations. This role requires strong knowledge of roadway construction safety, traffic control, and applicable OSHA, DOT, and MUTCD requirements. Job Responsibilities Monitor and enforce compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies. Oversee safety practices related to concrete and asphalt paving operations. Oversee safety practices related to sidewalk and roadway restoration. Oversee safety practices related to yard operations, including cement and aggregate transfer from silos and forklift operations. Assist with site‑specific Health & Safety Plans, traffic control, and safety. Provide safety coaching and guidance, incident investigations, safety documentation and inspection records. Qualifications Must have roadway or highway construction safety experience. STSC Certification (minimum). ATSSA Traffic Control Technician or Supervisor Certification.
