Cloud Engineer

The successful applicant will be performing work on US Government project for this role, and therefore, US citizenship is required.
This position may also perform work that the U.S. government has specified can only be performed by a U.S. citizen on U.S. soil.

Responsibilities include the following: ¿
• Design, code, test and deploy Cisco cloud infrastructure services and nodes used to support the development and operations of our cutting edge Cisco Webex micro-services by product development meetings using Python, Java, Puppet, Ansible and Docker containers. ¿
• Performance and scale engineering of data services including high availability and multi-site replication such as Cassandra, Postgres, Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc. ¿
• Implement automation to perform the day to day systems operations functions of the cloud collaboration platform using open source configuration tools such as Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, and familiarity with CI/CD tools such Jenkins and Github. ¿
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the cloud collaboration platform; implement long term fixes and automation to avoid repeat failures in the future. ¿
• Participate in on-call rotations with platform team for platform related services. ¿¿Candidates must meet the minimum requirements outlined.

Minimum Requirements: ("Must have" Qualifications)

Experience with Infrastructure orchestration as code(IaaS) such as Terraform in AWS env ¿-Previous experience with data clustering across data centers ¿-Must have previous experience developing or implementing configuration management with Ansible. ¿

Desired Skills/Qualifications/System Experience requirements: ("Nice to have Qualifications") ¿
Basic networking skills and familiarity with Unix/Linux systems including CLI used in checking component status and logs.
Experience in one or more development languages of Python, Ruby, Java, or Go ¿
Experience with open source technologies such as Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Kafka, Postgres, or RabbitMQ ¿
Oral and written communication skills, comfortable communicating with groups of people when needed
