Job Summary
Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) Urology/Nephrology, working in a Level I trauma center-based acute care hospital. This role involves providing comprehensive care to adult patients on a busy 25-bed unit, with a focus on Urology/Nephrology cases, including kidney transplants, urinary tract infections, and diagnosis-related treatments. The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant RN experience and involves floating within scope to other Medical Surgical units.

Job Details

• Position/Specialty: Medical Surgical RN - Urology/Nephrology
• Shift: Day shift 6:45 AM 7:15 PM
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Certifications/Requirements: BLS certification, active Illinois RN license, 2+ years of medical-surgical nursing experience, and Cerner charting system experience
• Required Work Setting Experience: Medical Surgical/Telemetry, Cardiac Monitoring, Emergency response, and Genitourinary/Renal case skills such as Hemodialysis management, renal failure, and urinary catheter care
• Responsibilities include: use of rapid response teams, blood product administration, post-operative kidney transplant care, managing chest tubes and other invasive equipment, and ensuring infection control and wound care
• Certifications required: BLS, active Illinois RN license
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with trauma level I setting, Telemetry, and dialysis-related procedures
