This individual will coordinate the duties for staff phlebotomists, evaluate workload and schedule phlebotomists appropriately. Also, acting as liaison to the laboratory manager and director. May obtain blood specimens from patients as needed. Individuals must follow laboratory policy on proper identification of patients and handling of obtained specimen Qualifications Education/Qualification Associate degree in a Medical Field or BS degree strongly preferred MLT certification or equivalent is preferred Phlebotomy technical degree is a plus Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency preferred Two years of laboratory experience including blood drawing and processing Two years of supervisory experience preferredSkills Demonstrates leadership ability Exceptional customer service skills Strong service recovery skills Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Ability to adapt to changing priorities Ability to set priorities and resolve problems Ability to ensure adherence to proper laboratory protocol Perform lab duties in relation to specimen collection Assess and maintain laboratory equipment according to standards Manage phlebotomy team for accuracy, safety, and timeliness Comfortable working with minimal supervision Ability to handle confidential materials Ability and wiliness to work the bench when necessaryAbout Universal Health ServicesOne of the nation’s largest and most respected providers of hospital and healthcare services, Universal Health Services, Inc.
