Shift Type: Rotating shifts including weekends and holidays with possible call, 36-hour guarantee

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate nursing care that supports mothers and babies through every stage of the birthing journey
• Apply critical thinking and independent judgment to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Lead and supervise the nursing care team including CNAs, LPNs, and techs to ensure seamless care delivery
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to create the best outcomes for patients
• Document patient progress and responses to treatment in a timely, accurate manner

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of current Birthing Center experience with laboring patients, deliveries, and postpartum care
• NRP certification preferred - Oaklawn will support you in obtaining it if needed
• Prior travel experience is a plus but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong foundation in the full nursing process from assessment through evaluation
• Expertise in labor and delivery, newborn care, and postpartum support
• Ability to supervise and coordinate care teams effectively
• Excellent documentation and communication skills
