Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.Raytheon’s Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center is currently looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Huntsville AL/Kentucky Department. We specialize in concept development, architecture design, requirements generation and flow-down, modeling and simulation, systems analysis, integration, test, and evaluation of advanced Missile Defense and Sensor Systems. In this role, you will support the modernization of Ground-Based Radar (GBR) systems by defining and analyzing system requirements, developing system architectures, and partnering closely with system, software, and integration/test engineering teams.What You Will DoYou will lead architecture and requirements development activities that define, characterize, develop and document Ground Based Radar (GBR) systems in the form of architectural framework updates, system-of-system functional and performance requirements, detailed algorithm descriptions, test scenario definition, and verification approach.You will conduct requirements analysis to verify system-level performance requirements.Experience coding system models, algorithms, test scripts, and evaluation tools for radar performance analysis.Experience collaborating with multi‑disciplinary teams and communicating with stakeholders at all levels.Experience interfacing with customers and leading technical solutions to complex problems.Experience developing and maintaining engineering processes and tools.Experience with Agile development practices, including JIRA and Confluence.Excellent communication, technical writing, interpersonal, and presentation skills.Experience working independently and within geographically distributed teams.This role is based onsite in Huntsville, AL.Travel is 10% - 15% domestically.Qualification You Must HaveTypically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.Experience with radar systems.Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and/or Cameo.Experience with MATLAB and/or Linux.Qualifications We PreferAdvanced STEM degree.Knowledge of radar concepts, including detection, discrimination, tracking, and signal processing algorithm performance.Experience with Python, C/C++, or Java.Experience with Agile development practices, including JIRA and Confluence.Strong analytical, technical, and problem‑solving skills.What We OfferOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
