Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Partum, Nursery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating Hours per Shift: 24 hours guaranteed Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience required License: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required Must-Have: Minimum of Associate Nursing Degree for positions hired after specified date Description: This position is responsible for caring for antepartum patients, laboring patients through childbirth, recovery, and postpartum. Lactation education and assistance will be provided. Family-centered care is included for well newborns and care in the Level 2 Nursery. Expert, compassionate, individualized nursing care for patients and families is expected. Collaboration with providers, staff, and other team members is essential to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Daily patient flow should be overseen to optimize patient care, safety, and satisfaction. Demonstration of the ability to triage incoming patient requests for services is required. Patient education must be delivered to facilitate care plans and promote optimal wellness. Ability to delegate care appropriately according to regulations is necessary. Competent healthcare assessment skills, prioritizing skills, and critical thinking skills must be demonstrated. Handling high telephone volume of patient requests for medications and information is expected. Medications will be administered, treatments performed, and assistance in procedures provided as needed. Consistency in adhering to patient safety guidelines is mandatory. Coordination of patient care with other physician practices is required to achieve the highest possible level of care and satisfaction. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision is essential. Excellent service should be delivered by utilizing Relationship-Based Care to advocate for safety, patient preferences, and optimal communication. Role modeling the principles of a Just Culture and organizational values is necessary. Compliance with privacy regulations is required.
