The AMPCC is focused on the research, development, and deployment of additive manufacturing tools and processes for our business units.What You Will DoThe Senior Additive Manufacturing Process Engineer will be challenged with solving unique and interesting problems to enable new commercial aerospace and defense products. They will be responsible for one or more of the following activities as they relate to the AMPCC, including:Develop advanced process parameters to enable complex geometries with enhanced material propertiesInvestigate sources of machine variability and develop methods to eliminate observed variabilityExecute and oversee development builds on various Additive Manufacturing machinesCollaborate with internal and external groups to develop whitepapers, project concepts, and responsive proposalsExplore the capabilities of advanced tools and equipment to characterize machines and process spaceDevelop machine installation, machine operation, and part qualification processes and standardsWork with RTX Business Units to understand and address their needsLead projects to advance the industrialization of AM at RTXQualifications You Must HaveThe preferred candidate should have a strong understanding of engineering principles and hands on experience working with laboratory equipment. Candidate must be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, collaborative team environment focused on innovation and have demonstrated both verbal and written communication skills including:Typically requires a University Engineering Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experienceExperience with Additive Manufacturing tools and processesScripting experience with Matlab, Python, VBA, JavaScript or similarHands on experience with metal laser powder-bed-fusion AM equipmentBasic understanding of low voltage sensors and control systemsQualifications We PreferPreferred candidates for this position will have a PhD in Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing Engineering or related technical field. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
