Shipping & Warehouse Associate – Medical Devices
Shift: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; M-F
Wage: $24/hr
Job Summary
We are seeking a Shipping & Warehouse Associate to support shipping, packaging, warehouse operations, and material handling in a medical device manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for accurately picking, packing, preparing, and shipping customer orders while ensuring products are properly protected during transit.
The ideal candidate will have previous warehouse or shipping experience , be comfortable operating powered equipment, have strong attention to detail, and be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Microsoft applications is preferred, while FedEx Manager experience is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment according to established procedures and packaging requirements.
- Package products using prescribed methods designed to prevent damage during transportation.
- Verify product contents against shipping documents, packaging documentation, and customer orders.
- Process shipping documentation through internal systems and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems provided by various carriers.
- Process customer orders using carrier systems and company warehouse/shipping systems.
- Disassemble and package Bone Densitometer Systems according to established shipping and assembly instructions.
- Operate and maintain powered warehouse equipment and other tools associated with the position.
- Maintain adequate packaging supplies and assist with inventory activities to ensure materials are available when needed.
- Help ensure required materials are available through processing, material movement, and expediting activities.
- Assist other departments and team members to support company production, shipping, and operational objectives.
- Maintain accurate records and follow established shipping, packaging, warehouse, and quality procedures.
- Participate in training and cross-training activities to develop knowledge of additional warehouse and shipping functions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow applicable Quality System, ISO 13485, and GMP requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities related to quality, packaging, shipping, and warehouse operations.
Technology & Systems
- Experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office/Microsoft applications .
- Experience using internal warehouse, inventory, or shipping systems.
- Experience with FedEx Manager preferred.
- Ability to learn and utilize electronic carrier systems and EDI systems.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse, shipping, packaging, or distribution experience preferred.
- Experience operating powered warehouse equipment.
- Ability to accurately pick, pack, verify, and ship products.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with shipping and packaging documentation.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions and established packaging procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and contribute effectively within a team.
- Ability to safely operate tools, equipment, and powered material-handling equipment.
- Ability to work in a regulated manufacturing environment and follow quality procedures.
- Medical device, ISO 13485, or GMP experience is a plus.
Quality & Compliance
This position supports a regulated medical device environment and is expected to actively follow the company's Quality System, ISO 13485 requirements, GMPs, shipping procedures, and established work instructions . Attention to detail is important to ensure products are packaged correctly, protected during transportation, and shipped according to customer and company requirements.
