Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to patients recovering from surgical procedures in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). Ensure patient safety, monitor vital signs, and facilitate smooth transition to discharge or next level of care.

Responsibilities:

Assess patient condition continuously upon arrival and throughout recovery.
Administer prescribed medications and interventions to manage pain and nausea.
Monitor vital signs and document patient status accurately.
Collaborate with surgical teams and anesthesia providers for optimal patient care.
Educate patients and families about post-op care instructions.
Ensure compliance with all safety and infection control protocols.

Qualifications:

Hold an active TN or compact Registered Nurse license.
Have at least 2 years of RN experience, preferably in ED, CCU, or PACU settings.
Demonstrate recent Epic system experience within the past 12 months.
Possess current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Be able to pass the Epic competency exam on the first attempt.
Be willing to work 8-hour shifts, including holidays and weekends as required.
