Job Title Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room / Float Location Colorado Springs, CO | Acute Care – Emergency Department (Float Zone) Schedule / Job Type Contract | 12-Hour Mid Shifts | Onsite | Float Role across Zone (up to 60-mile radius from Colorado Springs, CO) Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in Emergency Department settings across multiple facilities within an assigned regional zone, covering a 60-mile radius Manage a patient assignment of 4–5 patients based on acuity, treating common ED diagnoses including abdominal pain, NSTEMI, stroke, trauma, pneumonia, diabetes, and hypertension Administer standard emergency medications and drips; monitor and interpret telemetry independently (no monitor tech on unit) Perform and interpret Point of Care lab testing as trained Collaborate with charge nurses, techs, respiratory therapy (available 24/7), and mid-level providers to deliver coordinated emergency care Adhere to weekend rotation requirements (every other weekend or equivalent of 6–9 shifts per 6-week scheduling period) and every-other-holiday scheduling Required Qualifications Active RN license valid in the state of Colorado Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience Ability and willingness to float to multiple facilities throughout the full 60-mile zone as assigned, including Just-In-Time (JIT) assignments with 1–2 hours notice before shift start Must be present in state for the full week of orientation, even if initial modules are remote Must live at least 60 miles from the zone's city center (Colorado Springs, CO) to be eligible; valid driver's license required Preferred Experience / Skills Experience working in Trauma Level 3 or 4 Emergency Departments Familiarity with STEMI-receiving and Stroke Center protocols Comfort working in varied ED environments with differing patient volumes (40–168 patients per day) and facility layouts Experience with telemetry interpretation and reading/interpreting strips independently Why Join Us Gain diverse clinical experience across multiple Emergency Department settings within a structured regional float program with schedules released 4–6 weeks in advance Work alongside respiratory therapy, ED techs, and charge nurses in a well-supported team environment across facilities serving a broad range of acuity levels Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 776514.
