PipelayerPOSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for assembling, connecting, and constructing pipe systems for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains.Essential Responsibilities:Check gradeSet up laser for pipe alignmentCut pipes to required lengthsCheck slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasersLay out pipe routes, following specs or blueprints, and coordinate layouts with supervisorAlign and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealingConnect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement or glueTap and drill holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devicesCover pipes with earth or other materialsGrade and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand toolsPromote and adhere to the company's safety programKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Excellent communicationProblem solving.Organizational skills.Time management.Knowledge of operation of equipmentSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/AMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :Minimum 3 years' experience as a Pipelayer.GED or High school diploma
