Industrial Automation Cell Programmer — ABB RAPID & TwinCAT 3 Is this you?
- Do you enjoy writing ABB RAPID code and seeing robots execute precisely what you designed?
- Can you craft clean Structured Text in TwinCAT 3 and integrate it with field devices over EtherCAT?
- Are you at your best when commissioning cells on the manufacturing floor—hands on the teach pendant, laptop on the cart?
- Do you thrive on diagnosing faults, validating interlocks, and restoring cells to production quickly?
- Program and commission ABB industrial robots end to end.
- Develop Beckhoff PLC applications (TwinCAT 3) with Structured Text.
- Integrate robots, PLCs, sensors, actuators, and auxiliary equipment into complete, production-ready cells.
- Configure and troubleshoot EtherCAT networks and devices.
- Lead projects from development through production commissioning, directly on the manufacturing floor.
- Design robust sequences, interlocks, fault handling, and recovery routines.
- Interpret electrical schematics to debug industrial control issues.
Engineers who love building and debugging automation. This is not a primarily project-management or pure electrical design role—it’s a robotics and controls engineering position that lives on the line.
Required experience- ABB robot programming and commissioning with strong RAPID proficiency.
- Beckhoff controls and TwinCAT 3; PLC programming in Structured Text.
- EtherCAT configuration and troubleshooting.
- Systems integration across robots, PLCs, sensors, and actuators.
- On-floor commissioning and troubleshooting of automation equipment.
- Electrical schematic reading and industrial controls troubleshooting.
- Automation sequencing, interlocks, fault handling, and recovery expertise.
- Experience moving projects from development to production commissioning.
- ABB RobotStudio and SafeMove.
- Beckhoff TwinSAFE; servo and motion control on Beckhoff platforms.
- CNC machine-tool integration or robotic tending.
- Machine vision (Cognex, Keyence, ABB Vision, or comparable).
- OPC UA, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, MQTT, or similar industrial protocols.
- Python, C#, C++, or comparable programming background.
- Automated pallet/tool handling, CMMs, and inspection systems.
- Multi-robot or multi-machine cell experience.
- Digital twin/offline simulation tools.
