Growing together.The Optum Serve Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner provides clinically competent delivery of quality virtual medical care services required during Optum Serve operations. The PA or NP is responsible for providing clinically competent medical care services, within their scope of practice. The PA or NP working remotely on behalf of Optum Serve is responsible for safe patient care and ensuring adherence to all Optum Serve Policies and Procedures.All PA or NP shall meet the qualifications for their specialty and perform essentially the same functions, within the scope of acceptable standards for their technical professional discipline, as those required by DoD or government service technical professionals of similar experience and in similar duty assignments.This position works in collaboration with other providers as well as other team members of the healthcare team to complete Virtual health assessments in non-traditional healthcare settings. This provider is responsible for virtual patient triage, assessments, and referrals of all presenting patients to Optum Serve Telehealth.Seeking to hire PAs or NPs who reside or hold licensure in the following states with ability to obtain multiple state licenses per regional assignment: KS, OR, AR, AK, IA, ME, KY, CT, NH, WV, DE, MT, ID, SD, NM, RI, ND, VT, WY, WY, NEYou'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:This role is entirely remote and requires working in a non-traditional clinical setting. It is also (virtually) customer-facing with high expectations for operational excellence. The noise level is moderate and there is no risk of exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens. Hours may vary based on location, patient volume, and business needs. This list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, verbal and written communication skills, in addition to patience and a high-level of customer service to all patients and fellow staffAlways acts professionally with minimal supervision as a representative of Optum ServePossesses solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize, solve moderately complex problems while working both independently and collaboratively with othersMaintains compliance with Optum Serve and Federal, State, and Local regulatory, contractual, and organizational guidelines including HIPAA as outlined in training and policies/procedures, quality assurance and improvement processesOrganizes workload, sets priorities, completes assignments in a timely manner and utilizes resources appropriately while complying with organizational standardsDedicated to building rapport with team members, internal and external customers, and management team by demonstrating a solid customer service orientation and a continuous positive image of Optum ServeIs punctual for work attendance and abide by work schedulePractices within mandated scope of licensure/certificationProvide excellent patient care within the scope of PA or NP credentialed privilegesAnalyze and interpret histories, symptoms, physical findings, and diagnostic informationMaintain complete and detailed records of patients' plans of care, documenting care within an appropriate time frameConduct virtual medical assessmentEnsure appropriate follow-ups for all referralsEnsure patient assessments are being carried out as per site guidelinesManage new medical problems and appropriate follow-up on any ongoing medical problemsPerform other duties as assigned by LeadershipApply proper patient identification practice and HIPPA complianceProvide virtual support in emergent situations to patients who have medical needs while waiting for emergency response teamRemain up to date on all contract requirementsThis list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessaryEmergency Response:Responsible for assessment of patient's emergent needs in a nontraditional settingAttune assessment and critical thinking skills to ensure appropriate care can be delivered safely and within the scope of capabilities of the available resourcesSkilled in emergency responseShift Expectations:There will be 3 shift options: 8 am CST, 9 am CST or 10 am CST startEach shift will be 8.5 hours and include two 15 minute breaks and one 30 minute lunch breakAll shifts must work one weekend rotation per month with the choice of a weekday off that weekMental Demands: Reading, writing, attention to detail, confidentiality, problem-solving, ad hoc decision-making skills, math skills, reasoning skills, oral communication, written communication, customer contact, multiple concurrent tasks, stress management skills, interpersonal skills, ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Physical Demands: Handling (holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hand or hands), fingering (picking, pinching, fine manipulation), sitting, standing and speaking for long periods of time, and walking. Seeing and hearing alarms and settings responding according to training and procedures.You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:Master's Degree from an accredited university in a Physician Assistant Program or Master's Degree from an accredited university in a Nurse Practitioner programValid and unrestricted professional PA or NP license in the state which you resideAbility to apply for 10+ additional assigned state licensures within 2 weeks of hire dateCollaborative physician agreement if applicable based on state scope of practice regulations1+ years as a PA or NP in a clinical environment including oversight of ancillary and clinical staff and caring for adultsExperience conducting assessments on wide variety of acute/chronic conditionsProven experience utilizing electronic health record (EHR) platforms to document, review, and manage patient informationProven excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skillsAbility to work one or more of the listed schedule requirements including one weekend rotation per monthPreferred Qualifications:Multiple licensures preferably in one or more of the following states with ability to obtain multiple state licenses per regional assignment: KS, OR, AR, AK, IA, ME, KY, CT, NH, WV, DE, MT, ID, SD, NM, RI, ND, VT, WY, WY, NE2+ years clinical experience in a health care delivery systemVA and/or military experienceExperience working in a Virtual settingExperience working in a call center environment, handling a high volume of calls and performing repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and productivity standardsProven leadership experience including the ability to supervise, coach and develop staff using excellent interpersonal and communication skillsFamiliarity with government forms and documentationExcellent computer skills in Microsoft Office and database experienceProven excellent written and verbal communication skillsProven excellent social and therapeutic communications skills*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter PolicyCompensation for this specialty generally ranges from $113,000 - $173,500. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
