And we believe those same values should guide how we treat our employees.Job Description:Job SummaryThe Adjunct Faculty - Night Shift will be responsible for but not limited to, the clinical and lab education of nursing students in an academic setting or a clinical health care environment. Adjunct faculty will be scheduled by the Director of Clinical Resources/designee or the Director of the Skills and Simulation laboratory on a per diem basis for clinical and laboratory assignments.Essential FunctionsInteracts and collaborates with faculty team members, preceptors and nursing service personnel to facilitate optimum lab, online and clinical learning experiences for studentsTeaches in the clinical/campus laboratory and clinical seminars in accordance with curriculum standards and outcomesFacilitates discussions about accepted methods of nursing practice with students during or after the clinical day is completedConsults with nursing faculty in developing clinical learning activities in conformity with outcome of the nursing program and accreditation standardsAssigns students to patients and observes performance in actual nursing situations in a clinical settingEvaluates student performance and maintains necessary records of students’ progressAssists students through observational and participative experiences to apply nursing theory, the nursing process and nursing techniques in clinical settingsCounsels students on clinical performance, facilitates problem solving processes, and offers guidance and assistance as neededRegular attendance is an essential function of the jobMay be required to perform other duties as assignedRequirementsMaster’s degree in nursing from an ACEN or CCNE-accredited institutionRegistered Nurse in the state of Nevada or is eligible for licensureTwo years’ experience in a clinical specialtyPREFERENCE - Pediatric and maternal newborn experienceKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesIndividual must possess the knowledge and following skills and abilities or be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities:Ability to meet challenges of adult students with diverse backgroundsEffective verbal and written communication skillsExpertise in clinical nursing specialty areaExpertise in didactic or clinical teaching methodologiesIntermediate Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)Ability to operate effectively within the organizational structureAble to demonstrate trustworthiness and responsible behaviorProficiency with electronic health record systemsWork ConditionsWork is primarily indoors, but requires the incumbent to be in an outdoor environment when traveling between local campus buildings, off campus, and to other Roseman University facilities out-of-statePerforming duties and attending events outside the normally scheduled work hours occasionally occurs and is requiredIncumbent may be exposed to frequent noise caused by telephones, office machines, and nearby oral communications among University personnel and/or studentsRequired Physical AbilitiesAbility to bend, stoop, reach, stand, move from one area of the building to another on a regular basis, sit and use a computer for a long period of timeManual and physical dexterity needed to operate a computer keyboard and handle paper documentsSufficient near vision acuity to read information appearing on computer display screen, handwritten forms, and printed on paperAdequate hearing and verbal abilities to communicate effectively in person and by telephoneAbility to lift and carry a stack of forms and documents weighing up to 25 poundsRoseman University of Health Sciences is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and respectful workplace.
