Back-End Developer

Salary: $84,000 - 112,000 per year Requirements:

• We bring at least five years of software engineering experience.
• We have a minimum of five years of experience in healthcare or claims adjudication.
• We have two years of software engineering experience in healthcare finance, preferred.
• We are proficient with Visual Studio, C#, Git repositories, Azure DevOps pipelines and releases.
• We understand database stored procedures, functions, administration, and flowcharting tools such as Lucidchart.
• We have some familiarity with Figma and experience working with external APIs.
• We know how to develop RESTful APIs and integrate them into internal business workflows.
• We communicate effectively across all management levels and with customers, vendors, and business partners.
• We can troubleshoot unfamiliar issues, make sound business judgments, and work independently with limited direction.
• We collaborate well with cross-functional groups and can mentor junior developers on best practices and cost-efficient development.
• We have working knowledge of prescription claim EDI and the pharmacy reimbursement cycle.
• We are familiar with pharmacy management, including adjudication, formularies, and pricing, which is a strong plus.
• We ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITRUST, and other healthcare data security standards.
• We document architecture, workflows, and implementation guidance for internal and external stakeholders.
• Preferred education and experience include direct exposure to healthcare finance, self-funded medical benefit plans, healthcare provider connectivity, EHR systems, PBMs, and pharmacy-related standards such as NCPDP Script and X12.
• Experience with Surescripts RTPC, ePrescriber, Touchless PA, Mirth Connect, Redox, InterSystems HealthShare, and MediSpan drug data is preferred.

• We translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions using the .NET stack and Azure platform.
• We design and optimize database structures to support efficient storage and retrieval for our adjudication system.
• We implement backend features and business logic while maintaining accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• We uphold best practices and industry standards in all development work.
• We partner with cross-functional teams to gather needs and shape technical solutions.
• We advise leadership and the technology team on project status and opportunities for improvement.
• We work independently and collaboratively on both ongoing and special projects.
• We maintain compliance with HIPAA requirements and protect PHI.
• We complete required HIPAA training and demonstrate competency.
• We provide progress updates, consolidate ideas, and contribute to shared problem-solving with internal teams and external partners.
• We support mentoring efforts for junior developers and promote cost-effective development practices.
• We remain flexible as priorities evolve and may take on additional duties as needed.
