Position Overview

Client is seeking a Data Warehouse Developer II to support data warehouse and ETL initiatives, with a primary focus on migrating complex Informatica PowerCenter assets to Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC).

The selected candidate will work with technical teams and business users to understand requirements, develop ETL solutions, perform testing and validation, and support data warehouse performance, reliability, and security.

Key Responsibilities

• Migrate mappings, mapplets, sessions, and workflows from Informatica PowerCenter to IDMC.
• Perform testing, validation, troubleshooting, and performance tuning during migration activities.
• Design, develop, test, maintain, and implement ETL/data warehouse solutions.
• Develop ETL mapping specifications for loading data into the data warehouse.
• Gather and analyze business and technical requirements.
• Work with business users and technical teams to recommend and implement effective solutions.
• Design and work with relational and dimensional data models.
• Develop and maintain data warehouse processes, metadata, and repositories.
• Perform data analysis and SQL-based data management.
• Monitor and improve data warehouse performance and tuning.
• Ensure data reliability, integrity, and security.
• Develop test plans, test cases, test procedures, and use cases.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects.
• Prepare technical documentation and design specifications.
• Participate throughout the software development life cycle, including planning, analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and support.
• Work independently on complex projects while keeping management informed of progress and issues.
• Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, technical teams, and other IT groups.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of Informatica PowerCenter experience.
• 2+ years of Informatica IDMC experience.
• 2+ years of CDI-PC experience.
• Hands-on experience migrating complex PowerCenter assets to IDMC.
• Experience with data warehouse design and development.
• 4+ years of data warehouse requirements gathering and data analysis.
• 4+ years of data warehouse performance tuning.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
• Experience with Oracle, DB2, and SQL Server.
• Experience with relational and dimensional data modeling.
• Knowledge of Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD).
• Knowledge of Kimball data warehouse design principles.
• Experience developing large and complex data models and processes.
• Experience creating technical/design specifications and documentation.
• Experience developing test plans, test cases, and test procedures.
• Experience identifying defects and implementing QA processes.
• Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies and deliverables.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with business users and technical teams.
• Experience with COBOL and DB2/mainframe applications is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Visio, and Outlook.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Business Objects or other Business Intelligence tools.
• Tableau and dashboard development.
• Experience designing and utilizing performance measures and reports.
• Knowledge of State of Wisconsin privacy regulations.

Work Arrangement

• Approximately 90% remote / 10% onsite.
• Candidate must currently reside in Wisconsin or be willing to relocate to Wisconsin at their own expense within 30 days of the start date.
• Candidate must be physically located within the United States.
• No work may be performed outside the United States.
• Occasional onsite work may be required with notice.
• Candidate must be available during Central Time business hours, generally 8:00 AM 5:00 PM CT.
• On-call availability is required; weekend coverage is not expected.

Technical Requirements for Remote Work

The selected candidate must provide their own equipment and maintain compatibility with the current Omnissa Horizon Client.

• Windows 11 or supported macOS 13+
• Minimum 8 GB RAM; 16 GB+ preferred
• 64-bit processor
• Minimum internet speed: 20 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload
• Wired network capability (Cat 5a or better)
• Camera and headset for video/audio conferencing
• Latest Omnissa Horizon Client
