Transportation Account Coordinator

Responsibilities Receives/schedules all delivery orders and requests from customers, exercising discretion and independent judgment when communicating with dispatch. Enters all orders into the computer for dispatch; specialized training is required for technical lines. Ensures rail billing is completed before containers are delivered to the railroad and validates in‑bond documentation with U.S. Customs when necessary. Verifies bookings are released at depots for export moves and tracks import containers on the rail to confirm delivery by the last free day. Prepares customer reports and tracking as required, such as divisional pool, MDR, CNI, daily activity, and dispatch status. Notifies the Cargo Specialist Supervisor/management of all service failures. Proposes and implements solutions to improve overall customer service. Creates and updates location profiles in the computer system. Works as a dispatcher as volume/vacation schedule dictates. Completes other projects assigned by management. Skills & Qualifications Customer service and dispatch experience. Strong data entry, Excel database, scheduling and coordinating skills. Good communication, organizational and email proficiency. Knowledge of port and rail operations and U.S. Customs procedures. Familiarity with the trucking industry (preferred). Ability to work independently and make judgments under discretion.
