Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of clinical experience License: Current RN license (NC or compact state) Certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS (within last 6 months), CPI (must be in hand prior to start) Must-Have: - Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing - Experience in Labor and Delivery preferred - Meditech experience preferred Description: Candidates will be reviewed and interviewed by the manager. All requests for time off must be included with the application to be honored at the time of offer. Local candidates within a 50-mile radius will not be considered. This position requires 4x12 hour shifts on nights from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. Weekend shifts are required, and there is no call duty. The candidate must be willing to float if needed. Responsibilities include providing direct care to obstetrical patients. The nurse will be responsible for assessment, medication administration, and executing provider orders. Evaluation of care effects and documentation of care provided is also required. Communication with the care team must be maintained throughout. Care must be provided in adherence to all hospital policies and accreditation standards. The patient ratio in the 10-bed unit varies depending on the stage of labor, ranging from 1:1 to 1:4. Knowledge of high-risk deliveries and antepartum care is essential. The nurse will assist in both vaginal and cesarean deliveries. Skills in patient care include administration of medications, IV management, and fetal monitoring. Experience with blood product administration and handling various obstetrical emergencies is required. Support services provided include pharmacy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams. Candidates must have a current Nursys report dated within the past 7 days. All educational and professional credentials must be verified prior to employment. Background checks and license verifications with pending findings must be resolved before approval. Local candidates within a 50-mile radius will not be considered for this position. All required certifications must be active at the time of application.
