Faculty Associate - Headache Specialty - $25,000 sign-on bonus

Description The University of Maryland Faculty Physicians, Inc. (UM FPI) is seeking a full‑time faculty member with specialty training in Headache and facial pain syndromes to join the Department of Neurology. The Department of Neurology provides evaluation, treatment, and care for patients suffering from a wide range of neurological disorders including stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and migraine. It offers inpatient and consultative services, a Designated Comprehensive Stroke Center, a Level 4 Epilepsy Center, a 22‑bed Neuro‑Critical Care Unit, and an active outpatient practice. The department also offers state‑of‑the‑art rehabilitation services. Faculty receive grant funding from the National Institutes of Health and the Veteran’s Administration to study genetics in stroke, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, new brain imaging modalities in multiple sclerosis, biomarkers, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism and intellectual disability. Many faculty are lead investigators in clinical trials to identify new therapeutic approaches for a broad range of neurological disorders. The faculty member will expand a multidisciplinary outpatient practice focusing on headache, migraine, and facial pain syndromes. Clinical responsibilities will include inpatient consultation, procedures such as chemo denervation, nerve blocks, trigger point injections, infusion protocols, and alternative approaches as appropriate, and coordination of clinical trials related to headache. Strong collaboration with behavioral health and integrative plan services is expected. The selected faculty will participate in education and teaching of medical students and residents and assist with launching a headache fellowship. Salary Range Faculty Associate: $260,000 to $300,000.00 annual. Signing bonus: $25,000.
