Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Preoperative Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/14/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary: Travel Registered Nurse specializing in Pre-Operative Care is sought for a facility located in Wichita, Kansas. The role involves providing specialized pre-operative nursing care within a busy surgical unit. The position offers a dynamic environment with a focus on patient experience, teamwork, and utilizing advanced equipment and technology. Job Details: Position: Pre-Operative Registered Nurse (Travel) Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week Start Date: 09/14/2026 Schedule: Days shift only Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), minimum 1 year current acute care Pre-Operative Nursing experience, valid license to practice in Kansas, and at least 1 year of experience in a hospital setting at the time of application. Preferred Qualifications: Some preoperative experience or ability to assist preoperative staff, prior Meditech electronic health record experience. Type of Staff: Full Time RN staff (8 positions, with 2 vacancies), part-time, and PRN RN staff. Unit Details: 9 preoperative beds and 5 Phase 2 recovery beds Staff includes 8 full-time RNs, 2 part-time RNs, 4 PRN RNs, and 1 unit health unit coordinator Patient Ratios: 1:3 Equipment used includes Pyxis, GE MACVU EKG machine, Doppler, patient scale, bladder scanner Procedures performed include Phase 2 recoveries for Urology and GYN patients, outpatient infusions, outpatient EKGs, blood transfusions, and various outpatient procedures. Additional Information: The unit maintains high standards for patient experience, with a focus on communication and team collaboration. On-call requirements include two 10-hour weekend shifts every 8-9 weekends with a 30-minute response time.
