Community Outreach Coordinator

Community Outreach Coordinator (Part-Time) First Presbyterian Church of Waukegan is seeking a Community Outreach Coordinator to help expand our presence and impact across Waukegan. This role is ideal for a relationship-builder who is passionate about community engagement, communication, and mission-driven work. The Outreach Coordinator will develop and lead outreach efforts, build partnerships with local organizations, and manage external communications that support church programs and community connections with emphasis on children and families. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and evaluate a community outreach plan with measurable goals Partner with church leadership and program staff to support outreach initiatives Build and maintain relationships with community partners, families, and service providers Establish partnerships with local stakeholders, including schools, libraries, colleges, and city organizations Represent the church at community events, nonprofit gatherings, and neighborhood meetings Create and manage outreach communications (email, newsletters, website, and social media) Develop outreach materials such as flyers, presentations, and marketing collateral Track and coordinate outreach and marketing materials Develop, implement, and evaluate a community outreach plan with measurable goals, while providing training opportunities to enhance evangelism skills and equipping individuals for effective teamwork in witnessing. Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience in community or program outreach Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field (preferred) Bilingual English/Spanish required (strong written and verbal skills) Experience managing multiple projects and priorities Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Reliable, detail-oriented, and collaborativeCommitment to the mission and values of First Presbyterian Church Position Details Part-time, non-exempt (25 hours per week) Pay range: $20–$24 per hour Schedule: Monday–Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends Flexible schedule: hybrid/telework option available after introductory period Local travel required (reliable transportation needed) First Presbyterian Church of Waukegan is an Equal Opportunity Employer .
