ASCP Certified Surgical Technologist

Join a dedicated surgical team as an ASCP Certified Surgical Technologist, where your expertise ensures smooth and safe surgical procedures in a well-equipped operating room. You will prepare the surgical environment with all necessary instruments, sutures, and supplies at least 15 minutes before each procedure, ensuring readiness and efficiency.

• Prepare patient skin for surgery following established protocols.
• Participate actively in surgical TIME OUTs to guarantee patient safety.
• Handle and care for surgical specimens with precision and accuracy.
• Perform accurate counts of instruments, sponges, and needles, addressing discrepancies immediately.
• Maintain strict aseptic technique during all treatments and procedures.
• Assist circulating RNs and surgeons by performing technical and manual tasks.
• Manage surgical instruments and equipment throughout intraoperative and postoperative phases.
• Collaborate with the operating room team to maintain supplies and equipment readiness.
• Complete all required documentation promptly and in compliance with policies.
• Make informed decisions within the scope of practice to support patient care.

• Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (e.g., CST or ASCP).
• Previous experience in a surgical setting preferred but not mandatory.

• Commitment to ongoing education, competencies, and training.
• Adherence to safety guidelines and prompt reporting of incidents.
• Compliance with departmental, state, and federal regulations including TJC, OSHA, HIPAA, CMS, and others.
• Exemplary customer service skills with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to use hospital-approved cleaning agents following manufacturer instructions.
