Lead Field Service Technician- Amazon OOH9- West Jefferson, OH

Position Summary The Field Service Technician supports fuel cell products installed in electric lift trucks, performing preventative maintenance and resolving breakdowns at specific customer locations. They report breakdown events, order parts, and maintain fuel cells at a specific location. The role requires strong technical skills and communication with customers and technicians. Responsibilities Maintain and service fuel cells at customer sites. Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and evaluations to keep the fleet operational. Execute specialized service procedures, including field retrofits and software/hardware upgrades. Provide emergency support service to customers as required. Purchase tools, equipment, and parts for customer service and support. Inspect and maintain high‑pressure hydrogen storage, delivery, and fueling systems. Maintain communication with customer personnel and hydrogen suppliers regarding aftermarket support. Provide regular feedback to regional service representatives about fuel cell performance and field maintenance issues. Complete administrative duties and documentation, including incident reports, service logs, inventory maintenance, and site/system documentation. Enforce safety procedures in the field or at customer sites. Travel as required for business needs, drive safely, and adhere to all traffic laws. Represent Plug Power professionally at all times and in all interactions. Use standard equipment and follow field service processes and procedures. Lead Technician Responsibilities Ensure site truck availability at designated customer sites, targeting 99% availability. Receive and attend Field Service Technical Training Program. Perform component replacements and inspections, such as stack replacement, LOTO, fuel nozzle removal, and H2 system component maintenance. Maintain hydrogen system pressure metrics above 5,000 psi. Manage preventative maintenance schedule for hydrogen systems. Administer audits and inspections among technicians. Complete daily pad inspections and enter work orders for identified deficiencies. Certify efficiency audits monthly or as required. Communicate proactively with customers and the Regional Service Manager. Mentor and train technicians on site policies and technical guidance. Maintain inventory, 5S standards, and site evaluation scores. Qualifications Minimum high school diploma or equivalent with technical electrical coursework. Three or more years of direct experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting (formal training may substitute). Valid driver license, clean driving record, and ability to operate a motor vehicle. Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted on a regular basis. Knowledge of lift truck operation and applications (preferred). General mechanical aptitude. Computer and software skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook). Strong verbal and written communication skills. Creativity in solving technical problems. Ability to work independently. Time management and multitasking skills.
