Job Description Position Overview Great Western Behavioral Health Center is excited to announce an opening for a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Work Environment As a fully remote role, this position allows for flexibility in your work setting while remaining integral to a multidisciplinary team. Our clinic utilizes cutting-edge technology to ensure seamless communication and collaboration among team members. We provide access to electronic health record (EHR) systems that streamline patient management and data sharing, while also ensuring that our counselors have the resources they need to succeed. Key Responsibilities Conduct initial assessments and continuous evaluations of clients to understand their mental health status and identify their specific counseling needs. Design and implement individualized treatment plans that may include cognitive-behavioral therapy, supportive therapy, or psychoeducation based on evidence-based practices. Facilitate bi-weekly or weekly therapy sessions for clients, utilizing culturally responsive approaches to address diverse mental health challenges. Monitor clients’ progress through regular follow-ups, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure positive outcomes. Collaborate with external healthcare providers, such as psychiatrists and social workers, to coordinate comprehensive care and facilitate referrals as needed. Execute crisis intervention strategies effectively while maintaining a calm demeanor in high-pressure situations. Document all interactions and treatment plans accurately within our EHR system to meet compliance and organizational standards. Patient Population / Client Focus The ideal candidate will work with a diverse client base, including individuals facing substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, and more. Our clients range from adolescents to older adults, requiring flexible, adaptive counseling strategies tailored to age, background, and specific circumstances. This role also emphasizes inclusivity and responsiveness to the unique challenges faced by our clientele. Qualifications A Master’s degree or Doctorate in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. An active and valid counseling license such as LMFT, LPC, or LCSW issued by the state of Pennsylvania. A minimum of four years of direct clinical experience in a mental health setting, showcasing a strong understanding of various mental health conditions. Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities and cultural competency in therapy practices. Proven experience in both individual and group therapy environments. Strong crisis intervention skills and the ability to adapt approaches for different clinical presentations and client needs. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to foster trust and rapport with clients. Preferred Experience Experience with specific populations, such as adolescents or LGBTQ+ community members, which will be beneficial in delivering tailored care. Familiarity with telehealth technologies and virtual therapeutic approaches to enhance patient engagement. Active participation in continuing education courses or training relevant to mental health and counseling can be an asset. Compensation and Benefits The salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
