• Cardiology Clinic to include examination of patients and establish medical diagnoses by client history, physical examination.
• Cardiology core privileges: Admit, evaluate, diagnose, and treatment or consultative services to patients presenting with diseases of the heart, lungs, blood vessels and cardiovascular disease. Privileges include electrical cardioversion, insertion and management of central venous and pulmonary artery catheters, use of thrombolytic agents, pericardiocentesis, echocardiography interpretation including stress echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), Holter and treadmill interpretation, temporary transvenous pacemaker placement, right heart catheterization, intra-aortic balloon pump placement, and electrocardiography interpretation.
• If certified in Interventional Cardiology, the physician is required to have training and experience in coronary angiogram, coronary atherectomy, coronary angioplasty, coronary artery stenting, coronary intravascular ultrasound, FFR and IFR, and insertion of intra-aortic balloon pump and/or impella. Experience in peripheral angiograms and peripheral interventions, ICD, permanent pacemaker insertion including single and dual chamber pacemakers as well as bi-ventricular pacemakers is preferred.
