This full-time position involves providing specialized mental health services to seniors within our Outpatient Office setting, focusing on addiction counseling and overall emotional well-being. Work Environment

This position offers the flexibility of remote work while maintaining a supportive outpatient office presence. Our workweek operates from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, promoting a balanced work-life integration. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, enhancing service delivery through open communication and joint care planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients to identify their specific psychological and behavioral needs.
  • Provide both individual and group counseling sessions addressing issues such as adjustment to aging, loss, and chronic illness.
  • Work in tandem with other healthcare team members to formulate and implement comprehensive care plans aimed at maximizing the emotional well-being of our elderly clients.
  • Facilitate support and psychoeducational workshops aimed at helping families understand the emotional landscape that accompanies the aging process.
  • Guide clients and their families through grief and loss counseling, assisting them in navigating end-of-life issues with dignity and grace.
  • Implement cognitive stimulation and wellness programs that actively engage seniors, ensuring they maintain mental agility and quality of life.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clinic primarily serves elderly clients, catering to a diverse range of cultural and social backgrounds. These individuals may experience a variety of mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, PTSD stemming from life transitions, and addiction issues. Your empathetic approach will be crucial in building rapport and trust, allowing you to effectively address their complex care requirements.

Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution is required.
  • Current valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification.
  • A minimum of 4 years of recent experience in geriatric mental health counseling is essential.
  • A strong understanding of evidence-based mental health interventions and therapeutic modalities aimed at older adults.
  • Ability to conduct thorough assessments and customize treatment plans based on the client's unique needs and conditions.
  • Excellent communication and personable skills to facilitate meaningful interactions with elderly clients and their families.

Preferred Experience

  • Specialized training or certification in geriatric mental health, particularly in the areas of grief counseling and addiction support.
  • Experience in delivering mental health care in community settings or outpatient clinics.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and documentation practices within a clinical forensics context.

Compensation and Benefits
