Shipping Supervisor

Our client is seeking a Shipping Lead for an excellent on-site position located in the Detroit, MI area. Responsibilities include: Serve as the working lead and backup in charge of shipping, keeping daily workflow moving. Coordinate outgoing loads, and ensure scheduled shipments leave on time and accurate. Prepare, review, and process all required shipping paperwork and system records. Direct shipping staff on priorities, assignments, and day-to-day issues. Apply packing materials to outbound loads per procedure. Communicate with drivers, production, supervisors, and other departments for shipping operations. Train and coach new and existing shipping employees. Resolve routine operational problems and escalat[??]e issues to when appropriate. Perform other plant shipping and operations tasks as assigned. Qualifications & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor’s degree preferred. 5+ years in shipping, logistics, warehouse, or manufacturing, with 3+ years in a lead, supervisory, or demonstrated leadership role preferred. Experience preparing shipping documents and familiar with ERP systems Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new systems. Proven organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. Clear verbal and written communication skills Reliable attendance and flexibility for overtime and shifting production or shipping priorities. Working environment: Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and handle materials around moving equipment and vehicles in a manufacturing and shipping environment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
