Details Acute care hospital setting with 392 staffed beds Labor and Delivery unit with 100-200 births per month Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:30 Patient ratio of 1:2 Every other weekend required, 4 shifts per schedule No on-call requirements Floating between like units and sister facilities required Uses Epic and Mediteach charting systems Requirements Active CA RN license required Certifications required: ACLS, BCLS, NRP Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required Epic charting system experience required Experience with antepartum care and procedures, obstetrical triage, and external fetal heart monitoring (EFM) Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy and maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC) Experience with medication administration including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, and insulin drips Experience assisting with high-risk deliveries, circulating for C-sections, recovering C-section patients, and performing sterile vaginal exams Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last three years required Full SSN and DOB required for consideration Additional Information Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum management and high-risk delivery support Circulate and recover patients for C-sections as part of unit responsibilities Any scrub color accepted Free parking available on-site First-time travelers are welcome to apply Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for standard travel pay rate Local candidates within the radius may be accepted at a lower bill rate Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of consideration, as post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits Candidates must respond to a question regarding any prior work history at a Providence facility as permanent staff, traveler, or per-diem American Traveler Job ID P-749759.
