Position Description

The Town of Marana is seeking a Police Redaction Clerk to work in the Police Department. This is a full-time position and an exciting opportunity for someone interested in supporting the Marana Police Department in the handling of sensitive documents and records.

Expected Hiring Range: $18.76 - $22.98

• Placement within the expected hiring range is dependent on direct experience, internal equity and/or budget

Salary Range: $18.76 - $27.21

Normal work schedule: Four 10-hour shifts during weekdays; 7:00 am 5:00 pm

Examples Of Duties

• Utilizes redaction software in different media types to redact required items for public release.
• Transcribes audio and video items.
• Completes required paperwork; reviews and responds to directives and inquiries.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalency plus six months of additional education or training
• Over one year of clerical experience in an administrative setting or in a closely related field

An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills & abilities to successfully perform essential functions may be considered.

Additional Requirements:

• Must pass an extensive background investigation including polygraph and fingerprint clearance.
• Must obtain ACJIS (Arizona Criminal Justice Information System) Certification within 6 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with confidential records.
• Experience working in a records department.

• Finalists will go through further interviews with supervisory staff and potential background investigations. Further details will be provided for those that move forward in the process.
