Mental Health Technician

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) serves as the primary supervisor of the patients. MHTs continually conduct the every 15-minute safety checks on patients, supervise patients to maintain safety, conduct room and environmental checks, perform property checks, contraband searches, facilitate groups, write group notes, escort patients to meals and other activities and stay with patients to provide supervision and safety at all times. All MHTs work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Qualifications:

• Education: Associates degree in psychology, sociology or similar field is required a bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology or similar field is preferred.
• Experience: Two (2) years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.

Work Hours: Every weekend with premium differential for second shift - 3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. $20.00 per hour with a $4 an hour Sat/Sun 2nd shift differential.
