RXO is a leading provider of transportation solutions. With cutting-edge technology at the center, we're revolutionizing the industry with our massive network and commitment to finding solutions for every challenge. We create more efficient ways for shippers and carriers to transport goods across North America.

As a Safety Compliance Specialist at RXO, you will lead safety and compliance, overseeing our regional safety and safety administration teams. We operate fixed assets and trucks across the US for a variety of customers. You'll also work closely with our drivers, warehouse workers, and leadership team as well as third-party vendors, terminals, and independent contractors to ensure compliance with OSHA and FMCSA/DOT requirements while leading safety programs and ensuring an overall culture of safety within the business. This is a great opportunity and a fast growing and exciting business within RXO.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Partner with the Safety Director to develop, implement, and evaluate safety programs and policies that support DOT/FMCSA, and OSHA compliance across terminals, drivers, and dock operations.

Collaborate with terminal, drivers and field leadership to strengthen a proactive safety culture while establishing measurable criteria to track and improve safety performance.

Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local transportation and workplace safety regulations.

Lead and oversee accident and incident investigations, perform root cause analyses, and ensure timely completion of corrective and preventive action plans.

Maintain OSHA records, manage employee injury reporting, and support workers' compensation coordination.

Conduct audits of qualification files, accident files, roadside inspection documentation, and driver compliance records.

Support driver qualification and compliance programs, including CDL and CSA monitoring, drug and alcohol program adherence, and electronic logging (ELOG) compliance.

Facilitate new hire and refresher safety training for drivers, warehouse personnel, and field staff.

Serve as a key point of contact for third-party safety and compliance vendors, ensuring timely data integrity and reporting accuracy.

Support customer and leadership reporting by compiling, analyzing, and communicating safety performance metrics.

Assist with driver, vehicle, and company permitting and regulatory filings as needed.

At a minimum, you'll need:

5 years related experience in transportation/logistics.

Experience with FMCSA/DOT 49 CFR, and OSHA 29 CFR regulations

It'd be great if you also have:

At least 3 years of safety and DOT experience.

Bachelor's degree in Safety, Transportation, Logistics and/or related field

Knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations e.g., Injury and Reporting, ELOGs and HOS regulations

Proven experience identifying and resolving business problems

Experience developing actionable analyses with detailed explanations regarding drivers of those results

Excellent negotiation skills to deal effectively with individuals and groups within and outside the organization

Solid experience using a variety of interpersonal styles and communication methods to effectively adapt to new work structures, processes, or cultures
