Senior Credit Officer

The client is seeking a Senior Credit Officer for the Louisville, KY market. In this role, you will oversee and administer the bank’s loan portfolio by monitoring and managing credit risk across lending activities. The position focuses on establishing internal controls and developing written policies and procedures for extending credit to customers while supporting the bank’s company goals. You will develop and maintain standardized policies and procedures to support commercial credit products and improve loan portfolio quality, while helping establish a strong credit culture. Responsibilities will include supporting the development of the commercial loan portfolio and targeted yield, providing oversight of an effective credit approval process aligned with the bank’s credit risk appetite and asset growth objectives, and directing credit underwriting and ongoing loan portfolio management activities. You will formulate, review, and approve lending policies and procedures, and work with subordinate executives to assess loan portfolio soundness and address policy questions related to business development, staffing needs, performance appraisals, and compensation administration for the lending function. The role also involves contributing to long-range planning, adhering to the bank’s policies (including BSA policy), and performing other assigned duties; qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline and experience in commercial and/or real estate/business lending, credit risk analytics or risk management, and expertise in credit risk management, credit approval, and loan structure and administration, along with demonstrated analytical problem-solving, leadership, and strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
