Position Overview


Northrop Grumman is seeking skilled Assembler 2 professionals to perform electronic and electro-mechanical assembly operations in a manufacturing environment. Candidates will assemble complex components and subassemblies using engineering drawings, technical diagrams, precision hand tools, power tools, jigs, and specialized equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform repetitive and non-repetitive assembly of electronic and electro-mechanical subassemblies.
• Assemble modules, circuit boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables.
• Interpret engineering drawings, technical diagrams, layouts, and assembly instructions.
• Use precision hand tools, power tools, jigs, and other manufacturing equipment.
• Conduct continuity checks and quality inspections on in-process and completed assemblies.
• Disassemble, modify, rework, repair, and reassemble components as required.
• Test completed assemblies under simulated operating conditions.
• Follow detailed technical instructions, manufacturing procedures, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to meet manufacturing requirements.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Active IPC J-STD-001 certification.
• 1-3+ years of experience in hand soldering or electronic component assembly in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions and engineering documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
• 5+ years of hand soldering experience, including inspection, complex rework, and repair.
• Experience using specialized soldering tools and equipment.
• Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and electro-mechanical assembly documents.
• Experience with Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software and Microsoft 365 applications.
• Willingness to complete training for work involving explosive assemblies.
