Registered Nurse RN Labor Delivery

POSITION SUMMARY Full‑time Night Shift RN Labor and Delivery. Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care in accordance with organizational policies and standards of professional practice. Accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or under direction. CORE FUNCTIONS Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs; reviews history, diagnostics, and laboratory data. Formulates a plan of care using assessment data and patient/family input; develops realistic, measurable goals; revises the plan as patient needs change. Implements the plan through direct patient care, coordinates, delegates and supervises care of health team members; ensures compliance with policies and standards. Evaluates patient and family response to care and teaching; revises the plan accordingly; monitors progress toward goals. Documents assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in patient record; notes physician orders accurately and timely. Provides evidence‑based care; participates in research activities, shared leadership, orientation, precepting, and mentoring. Contributes to improvement of national nursing quality indicators; participates in professional organizations. Supervises staff and workflow when role requires. Interacts with staff, physicians, patients, families, external contacts, clergy, and other providers to coordinate care and clarify information. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Current, valid RN license in the state of practice or compact RN licensure. BLS certification required. Acute‑care experience in Labor and Delivery within the past 12 months required. Immediate RN experience in acute care or physician practice for Banner Registry/Travel roles. Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required for certain positions. Minimum one year acute‑care experience for Registry and Travel acute care positions. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree preferred. Professional certification preferred. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
