This dentist position is a direct service position and will work a minimum of 20 hours per week, up to 40 hours per week dependent on workload with facility director and dental director approval. The shift is: 20-40 hours per week, Monday - Friday with flexibility between the hours of 7am-5pm. Either 8-hour or 10-hour shifts.

PRIMARY CLINICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Conduct examinations of individuals teeth and surrounding oral structures utilizing x-rays, mouth mirrors and other diagnostic procedures and instruments to determine pathological or irregular conditions.
• Treat dental diseases, injuries and malfunctions of teeth and gums.
• Perform restoration of simple and compound cavities.
• Administer anesthetics.
• Perform oral surgery commensurate with professional qualifications.
• Perform extractions of teeth.
• Clean teeth by scaling calculus.
• Treat teeth, mouth and gum infections with appropriate drugs or by surgery.
• Maintain written records of individuals dental treatments.
• Advise individuals about dental health practices.
• Instruct and direct paraprofessional dental staff in the performance of auxiliary duties.

Proper footwear required to perform tasks in a safe manner.
Perform other reasonably related duties as required.
