Field Service Engineer

Description

As a Field Service Engineer, you will support critical power facilities with the startup, service, troubleshooting, modification, and maintenance of automatic transfer switches and power control equipment. This is a hands-on, customer-facing field service role supporting critical facilities such as data centers, telecommunications facilities, airports, and healthcare environments.

You will provide technical support for field startups, warranty work, emergency repairs, and preventative maintenance while ensuring compliance with applicable safety policies, regulations, and industry standards.

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:

High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 3 years of Field Service Engineering experience
Experience with electrical power systems, including low-voltage through medium-voltage switchgear
Experience supporting critical power facilities such as data centers, airports, healthcare facilities, or similar environments
Experience testing automatic transfer switches
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
Experience with power control and automation systems
Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
Familiarity with applicable electrical codes and industry standards
Strong customer service and client communication skills
Ability to complete projects on time and within budget guidelines
Strong project management, organization, and decision-making skills
Self-directed and committed to customer satisfaction
Valid driver's license in good standing
Ability to travel up to 80%
Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
Ability to participate in a 24/7 on-call schedule

Nice-to-Have Skills:

5+ years of field service experience within the power distribution or protection industry
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Power distribution experience
AC/DC electrical knowledge
Voltage and circuit theory knowledge
Advanced practical electrical troubleshooting skills
Excellent time-management and follow-up skills
Experience with automatic transfer switch startups, modifications, warranty work, and preventative maintenance
Experience supporting mission-critical power systems
