$5,000 Retention Bonus Available!Schedule:Part-time, 32 hours/week (benefit eligible)8-hour shiftsDevelops, plans, implements, facilitates, directs and evaluates experiential therapy programming in all specialized treatment areas. Knowledge and experience are applied in an educational role with interdisciplinary staff and community resources. Documents within designated program. Is knowledgeable, skillful and have abilities in a wide variety of experiential media. The Experiential Therapist/Recreation Therapist will have a working knowledge of a psychosocial functioning of patient/resident groups as well as application of expressive activities within a psychiatric setting. These include, but are not limited to, adventure-based and environmental activities, sports, dance, group initiatives, arts/crafts, music, outdoor activities, art media, psychodrama, horticulture, ropes and challenge course.Job Duties & Responsibilities:Develops, plans, implements, facilitates, directs and evaluates programming in all specialized treatment areas.Able to maintain basic staffing need and daily functioning of department in leader’s absence.Coordinates, evaluates, supervises student interns.Have a thorough working knowledge of a psychosocial functioning of patient/resident groups as well as application of expressive activities within a psychiatric setting.Utilizes recreational activities to aid patients /residents to learn to apply and utilize recovery skills being taught in protocol sessions.Provides individualized treatment within a group setting.Awareness of CBT and DBT skills.Additional Job Description:Education/Training Requirements:BS/BA degree is required, preferably in art, music, dance, recreation, or other therapies required.
