POSITION SUMMARY

Maintenance Technicians work within a facility management organization that provides a variety of operation and maintenance services within a 24/7/365 environment that includes clean room manufacturing and office space. Under the supervision of the Facilities and Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance tasks, building/equipment inspections, equipment repairs/modifications, and general labor. The Maintenance Technician ensures ProMeds brand, philosophy, systems, policies, and procedures are properly implemented and observed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Use testing equipment such as power meters to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.
• Maintain and repair plumbing systems to include water pumps, bathroom fixtures, flush valves and minor drain maintenance as needed.
• Inspect or maintain all life safety equipment, including exit signs, emergency lighting, eye wash stations, AEDs, fire extinguishers and fire protection systems.
• Use hand and power tools to perform repairs and maintenance ranging from a complete overhaul to replacing defective components that meet the manufacturers specifications.
• Perform preventive and unscheduled maintenance duties on production equipment.
• Troubleshooting and repair of down equipment
• Must be available for on-call as needed and/or scheduled
• Hazardous Waste handling
• Identifies and implements a comprehensive education plan to continually advance technical skills and personal development as well as enhancing organizational effectiveness.
• Participates in project planning.
• The employee is expected to develop acceptable work habits, skills, knowledge, and contributions consistent with the Maintenance position level.
• This job also requires performing other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required:

• High School Diploma or approved GED
• 2 year technical degree plus a minimum of 3 years experience demonstrating a high mechanical aptitude or a minimum of 5 years experience in applicable field.
• Must have a working knowledge of the following skills: use of hand and power tools, plumbing/pipefitting, electrical work, carpentry work, blueprint reading, mathematics, and facility equipment operation.
• Self-starter with a proven ability to successfully work with minimal supervision
• Experience replacing HVAC components such as compressors, coils, controls, and heat exchangers.
• Demonstrated expertise performing electro mechanical fluidic circuit troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance, and equipment modification.
• Must be able to work in a collaborative / safety conscious environment. Safety First
• Must hold a valid state drivers license.

Preferred:

• Experience with MS Office
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Clearly conveys ideas and receives information effectively
• Professional, courteous, and friendly personality
• Working knowledge of English (verbal and written)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Exposure to heated/air conditioned, ventilated facilities with florescent lighting;

PHYSICAL, SENSORY, COGNITIVE & NEUROLOGICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job:

• The employee may be required to stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, see and use repetitive motions;
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material and the ability to adjust focus;
• The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with internal and external people;
• Employee moves about the building and be able to maneuver in tight spaces between desks, etc.;
• Employee may have duties involving walking on even or uneven surfaces;
• Employee occasionally to frequently use a whiteboard, which can require grasping whiteboard pens, reaching at, below, or above shoulder height and may require trunk or neck rotation to look back;
• Employee may use computers, overhead projectors, TV, and other work-related equipment, which may require an approximately 25+ pound force to push or pull equipment;
• It is necessary to grasp and manipulate pens, markers, scissors, staplers, etc. occasionally to frequently.
• Employee must see and hear on a continuous basis as well as speak frequently;
• Position varies from standing, sitting, walking, etc. On some occasions it may be necessary to move quickly, run, etc. over smooth or uneven surfaces.
