POSITION

Part-time (Full Time Possiblity) LOCATION Remote/Hybrid - Washington, DC About Catholic Energies Catholic Energies helps Catholic dioceses, parishes, schools, religious orders, and other ministries reduce energy costs, modernize facilities, and advance care for creation. We accompany Catholic leaders from initial energy analysis and planning through procurement, financing, and implementation-connecting them with vetted energy service companies and clean energy partners while keeping institutional needs and mission at the center. Our growing national portfolio includes energy efficiency, renewable energy and storage, clean energy procurement, net-zero planning, and carbon drawdown initiatives. The Opportunity Catholic Energies is seeking a highly organized, relationship-driven Program Manager to guide Catholic institutions through energy service company (ESCO) and clean energy procurement projects. This person will be the primary day-to-day contact for an assigned portfolio of dioceses, parishes, schools, and religious communities-moving projects from early interest and data collection through assessment, procurement, contracting, implementation, and ongoing performance review. The role combines client account management, disciplined project execution, data stewardship and enough technical fluency to coordinate effectively with facility leaders, consultants, utilities, legal and finance teams, and energy service providers. What You Will Do

• Serve as the primary account manager and trusted point of contact for participating Catholic institutions, building relationships with diocesan leaders, facility teams, finance officers, pastors, school administrators, and religious communities.
• Manage multiple energy efficiency, and clean energy procurement engagements from intake through completion; establish workplans, milestones, owners, decision points, and next steps.

Coordinate collection and review of utility, facility, equipment, and financial data; identify missing information and keep stakeholders moving toward timely decisions.Guide clients through preliminary assessments, facility audits, requests for proposals, vendor evaluation,contract development, financing considerations, construction coordination, commissioning, and measurement and verification.

• Coordinate vetted ESCOs, energy suppliers, consultants, contractors, funders, and internal staff; clarify roles, surface risks early, and hold partners accountable for deliverables and timelines.
• Help institutions compare technical and commercial options in plain language, including projected savings, capital requirements, incentives, contract terms, operational impacts, and mission benefits.
• Support competitive procurement processes and maintain complete, organized project records, including proposals, scoring, approvals, contracts, schedules, risks, and performance documentation.
• Track portfolio progress and report on pipeline, project stage, capital deployed, anticipated savings, emissions reductions, client engagement, and barriers requiring escalation.
• Oversee third-party stewardship of institutional energy and billing data, ensuring written agreements, purpose limitation, minimum-necessary sharing, confidentiality, security, retention/deletion, and breach-response requirements.
• Maintain accountability and transparency by documenting institutional authorization or consent, monitoring vendor and subcontractor compliance, and ensuring Catholic Energies remains responsible for data handled on its behalf
• Improve repeatable tools and processes-including client onboarding, data requests, project dashboards, meeting templates, and vendor performance reviews-as the program scales.
• Represent Catholic Energies in client meetings, webinars, conferences, and partner discussions; occasional national travel is expected.

• Clients experience Catholic Energies as responsive, practical, trustworthy, and easy to work with.
• Projects advance consistently from assessment to signed agreement and implementation, with clear ownership and few avoidable delays.
• Technical, financial, contractual, and stakeholder risks are identified early and managed transparently.
• Leadership has accurate, timely visibility into every active account and the overall project pipeline.
• Catholic institutions make well-informed decisions that reduce operating costs, improve facilities, and direct more resources toward mission.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience in program management, project management, account management, energy services, facility modernization, construction, utilities, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of complex, multi-stakeholder projects with competing timelines and dependencies.
• Strong client-service instincts and the judgment to work effectively with senior leaders, technical professionals, vendors, and nontechnical decision-makers.
• Working knowledge of building energy efficiency, energy performance contracting, clean energy procurement, renewable energy, or utility markets. Direct ESCO experience is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with energy audits, guaranteed savings, financing structures, commissioning, and measurement and verification is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to translate technical and financial information into clear recommendations and decisions.
• Strong organization and follow-through, with confidence using customer relationship management, project management, spreadsheet, and presentation tools.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Compensation Part Time Contractor as 1099. $45/h with the possibility of moving to full time.
